The Power of Touch and Massage Oils

The power of touch is wonderful for the body and mind.  We know that babies who are held and touched and caressed will thrive and that premature babies will do better with touch.  (*Don’t use essential oils on babies!)  The power of touch holds true for any age from the very young to the very old.  Even pets benefit from the power of touch!  (although I wouldn’t use massage oil on pets)

The ancient people understood clearly the effect on the mind and body of massage and massage oils as well as the power of touch.  It’s a great stress buster and it uplifts and provides positive effects on the mind.

Massage oils are used to reduce the friction of the hands and provide a soft steady glide of the fingers.  The oils are beneficial not only to the senses but provide great benefits to the body as well because of the nutrients they provide.  The essential oils added to carrier oils in the massage oil delight and give great mental benefit!

Here are some of my recipes for wonderfully aromatic massage oils.  To make these simply combine all the ingredients into a bowl or jar and mix well (and slowly as to not spill a drop).   Warm slightly and massage using your fingertips.

You only need a teaspoon or two for a massage, so seal up your jar and place it in the fridge for longer life.
